The Arsenal Football Club
The Arsenal football flag, with its cannon icon, represents the Woolwich ammunitions works where the club was founded way back in 1886. Arsenal is a premier league club, from Islington, London. The club’s victories have been impressive. Its many trophies include 13 League titles, 13 FA Cups, 2 League Cups, 15 FA Community Shields.
The first south of England club to join the Football League in 1893, it didn’t take long for them to reach the First Division in 1904. After that, they have remained there apart from one relegation in 1913. In the 1970-71 season winning their first League and FA Cup Double.
Why the name Arsenal? Founded by the Woolwich ammunitions workers in 1886 and known as Dial Square. Subsequently crossing the city to the Arsenal Stadium in 1913, they moved again in 2006 to the Emirates Stadium.
